At the 2017 NALP annual education conference there was an excellent session, led by DeAnna Bumstead-Yeary, Lauren Marsh and Holly Saydah, about what millennials want from their summer programs.
They talked about how millennials expect to learn at work the way they do in their personal lives – quickly, efficiently and on their own terms. That's been our experience too. For example, to learn how to make a martini an hour before the party, it’s a quick YouTube video – not a long lecture at a set day and time.
That's really why we started Hotshot: to provide resources that lawyers can use that match their learning experience outside work, and to help firms implement training programs that are more engaging, effective and affordable.
